They just gave me a roundabout answer stating that they are privately owned, so they can refuse service to us. I even called the police department of Gulf Shore Orange Beach Alabama. That if the general public can enter so can we, it is clearly stated in the ADA laws. Even with my service dog's vest on, we were told by the manager we aren't welcome even after telling him. Then told me service dogs 🐕 aren't welcome here. So while going into this restaurant we were greeted. My family and I decided to try some un-fried seafood. I hate to shout out to another business that is truly privately owned on another business's horrible review, but I think it should be done. I must say that after having a memorable time at Fun Boats Dolphine Cruise 🛳 with Wounded Warrior Project. I cannot recommend-sorry-for the price point- the service was less than expected. This was certainly a recoverable situation.too bad it wasn't addressed. NO ONE WAS HAPPY about the mess at our table. I'd have to say I wasn't impressed and it's a good thing our friends picked up the tab. Didn't represent management well in that get-up! Our one complaint about our table needing clearing before dessert (please) fell on a deaf ear because he did absolutely nothing.

Must comment that a " management type guy stopped by in his game shirt, track shorts and his black calf high Socks. For an eight top that made for a true mess. Would have liked the finished plates cleared away before the next course arrived but they were mostly just pushed aside. Service lacked a bit of finesse however, but servers are hard to find nowadays I recognize. The seafood tower and crab claws were all on point. I have to start out by saying I wasn't much for a hot piece of fish sitting on a cold bed of couscous but, hey, try something new once in a while, right?. A dockside seafood joint with a casual flare. I had to tell our kids to just pretend that we are still outside waiting for them to call our numbers, so that can make them feel better.Īn awesome boat ride took us from Perdido Key to Fisher's. Overall the food was great, but I still can't believe a spike of electricity can cause them to lose our order and make us wait an extra 20 minutes. Then the waitress finally realized she has not served our food and came to apologize, and asked us to wait a bit longer before they could serve us.

Many other tables came in after us got their food way before ours, and I thought it could be because we ordered a large combination plate, so that's why it's taking longer than small plates? But then they had some spikes on electricity and guess what!!! They lost our order and didn't serve our meal till 40 minutes after. The staff said it's about 50 minutes of wait when we arrived, later on they call us around 20 minutes after, so I assume they turn the tables quick.Īfter we got in, we ordered pretty quick and got the appetizers fast. We are in town on vacation, the hotel recommended this restaurant is one of must go at Orange Beach. There is a second location on Perdido Beach Blvd. I have to say, that was the best Cocktail Sauce I have every had! The food came promptly, and everything was very good. Her instructions where clear and we had a fun time doing it.
#Cobalt restaurant happy hour how to
Then she began to explain how to make your own Cocktail Sauce. She then came out with little sauce cups, and one had a dab of Horse Radish. Filling drink glasses only busies the server and can be very frustrating for the customer if you can’t get refills. For the record, I do not understand why more restaurants don’t do this. She took our drink orders and came back with a picture of both. My wife is not one for the “Mom and Pop” type establishments, but I talked her into it. This location, while older and quaint, was very clean and the service was very good. We had been to a now closed location in Gulf Shores some 18 years ago. We ate a Doc’s while on vacation in June of 2022. Kids even spotted the black cat, Junior mint. Kids enjoyed their cheeseburger and fries. The Parmesan risotto it paired with was good. My bacon wrapped chicken wasn’t the best I’ve had but it was still good - just slightly overcooked and hence dry. The crab meat was literally stuffed into the crabs - other establishments tend to cheap out on the crab meat with crab cakes but this place didn’t disappoint.

The warmed bread and butter are garlic heavy which we loved though others might not. We started with the crab cakes and bread for our appetizers. Even if our food sucked (which it didn’t!), we’d still leave a positive review. She was pleasant, professional, kind, knowledgeable about the menu, honest, and effortless friendly. The patio is completely covered which was perfect on a rainy day like today! It was big enough yo social distance but small enough to still feel intimate. There was no wait to sit outside and they had a good size outdoor patio. Our entire dining experience was wonderful from start to finish.
